Celebration of Life for Frank L Turk Jr.

Frank Louis Turk, Jr., age 68, went to be with the Lord, on January 10th, 2018, in his home in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 11, 1949 to Frank L. Turk Sr and Margaret (Miskowiec) Turk. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, IN, Class of 1969.
He served in the United States Navy from May 28, 1969 and was discharged under honorable conditions on June 8, 1971. Frank worked at the Railroad, Ertel's, and eventually retired from Ricoh. After retirement, he spent winters in Arizona until he was able to move there permanently to be with his Daughter Amy, Son-in-law Ryan and grandson Brayden (Bug-a-Boo). It was here that he was happiest and able to enjoy the sun, beautiful scenery of palm trees and mountains, and experience life in a more meaningful way.
Frank, also known as Butch, Butchka, Bru, Dad, Papaw Turk, Uncle Butch, Cuz, and likely many more that we are not aware of…lived and enjoyed his life to the fullest. He was able to see the beauty in everything. He loved to hang out and have a drink with anyone, especially his family and friends. He had the best sense of humor and had a lot of love to give. He loved racing, especially the Indy 500, where he would say "He was born in the G stand".
Frank treasured his time in Arizona, where he was able to create many memories with his family especially during his last year when he was blessed to spend more quality time with his daughter Amy while she was off of work. He embraced life in Arizona by going swimming, playing ball, attending all sporting events with Brayden (two of his favorites being the Phoenix Open and Cubs Spring Training games), having a bellini at any time of the day, and video chatting with his brother John and niece Jessica. He enjoyed traveling with Amy and her family, particularly to Pebble Beach, and watching Ryan and Brayden play golf. His love ran deep for Notre Dame and the Chicago Cubs, but even deeper for his daughter Amy and grandson Brayden. Frank dedicated his retirement to making the most of his time with his family, especially Brayden who not only adored him as his papaw, but also as his best friend.
He is survived by his daughter Amy Christiansen, his son-in-law Ryan, grandson Brayden, brother Johnny Turk, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Michael Turk.
Family, friends and others are invited to his Celebration of Life on January 27th, 2018 at Usher Funeral Home 2313 W Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46222 from 1-3pm, Service starting at 3pm. The family will be getting together afterwards at the Slovenian National Home following the service.
