Frank vonWebern., 93, of Kingwood Township, NJ passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday June 5, 2011. Born: Originally from Paterson, NJ, Mr. vonWebern was born to the late Grace Cram and Frank VonWebern. He moved to Kingwood Township shortly after his marriage in July, 1939 to local girl, Virginia Servis VonWebern, who passed away in July, 1991. Personal: Frank served as a volunteer fireman in Frenchtown in the early 1940s. He worked at many jobs over the years; milk man, plumbers helper and truck driver for Burckam Bros. of Hillside, NJ. finally retiring in 1982 as a heavy equipment operator out of Operating Engineers Local 825. Frank loved automobiles and enjoyed watching the big auto races on TV. He also enjoyed woodworking, hunting and gardening. Memberships: Frank was a member of Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church in Baptistown, NJ. He served as the Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus council in Milford and was also a member of the Phillipsburg council Knights of Columbus. Mr. vonWebern served in four branches of the military during the war years, Army, Army Reserve, Navy and the National Guard. Mr. vonWebren was known for single-handedly relocating the old Frenchtown Library Building to become part of his own home. He was very proud of this accomplishment. Survivors: Survivors include his daughters Jamie G. Brown of New Hope, PA, Kathleen vonWebern of Alexandria Township, NJ, Peggy Knight of Washington, NJ, Mary Mulligan of Sergeantsville, NJ and Barbara Quigley of Bethlehem, CT, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Edward Steele and his sister Rose Marie Tschumi. Services: Funeral services will be held on Friday June 10, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church, Rt. 519, Baptistown, NJ. Interment with military honors will follow in Frenchtown Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
