Frank Zutaut Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2009.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass., CARVER, Mass., and Maine - Frank J. Zutaut Jr., 80, one of the best fishermen around, died peacefully July 16, 2009. Frank was raised in Bridgewater and was a graduate of Bridgewater High School, Class of 1947. Frank started his working career at George E. Keith Shoe Factory and later worked for many years at Bridgewater Fireworks. He also worked at Carver Cotton Gin as a machinist, and at Simpson Spring's as a night watchman. He also owned Frank's Watch & Repair Shop, Bridgewater, Mass. Frank's father taught his sons how to fish and hunt at an early age and Frank grew up to enjoy saltwater striper and cod fishing, ice-fishing for perch and trout, and fresh water fishing for large mouth bass and pickerel. He could often be found on his boat seeking out a new fishing hole to find the next "big one." Frank's favorite freshwater fishing spots were in Plymouth, Mass., Middleboro, Mass., and Lakeville, Mass.; and his favorite fishing buddy and best friend was Roger Norway of Middleboro, Mass. Frank enjoyed hunting and would often travel with his brothers to different hunting spots. Frank was a founding member of Bridgewater (Mass.) Beagle Club and Bridgewater (Mass.) Beagle Club Association. He also enjoyed carpentry, painting and going on cruises to Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean with his beloved sister, Lillian. Frank was the son of the late Frank and Mary Zutaut; and loving brother of Bernie A. Zutaut of Bridgewater, Mass., Lillian M. Roque of Maine, Robert E. Zutaut of Lakeville, Mass., and the late John R. Zutaut. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral will be held 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, Mass. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will be private. Visiting hours are 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. God said, "I need an Angel.
For I have saved a special place.
On earth he needed crutches.
Up here he is free to race.
I need one that brought happiness
To everyone his smile did touch.
I know on earth they'll miss him.
But I need him very much.
I allowed the world to borrow him
To bring joy and love to all.
And I will comfort those he loved
But.... he is mine to call.
He loved the beauty of nature
And he will be on a fishing bank.
He is one of my greatest creations
The world knows him just by Frank."

We love you and feel your pain because he was a great friend and will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
