SUNBURY — Franklin I. Bartholomew, 65, of RR4 Sunbury, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 22, 2007, in Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Sunbury, a son of the late Herbert and Grace (Thomas) Bartholomew. He married the former Joy A. Clark in 1970.

He was a self-employed building contractor.

Franklin was a member and a deacon of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, Sunbury.

He was a member of Free & Accepted Masons, Lodge 22, Sunbury, the Williamsport Consistory and the National Homebuilders Association.

Franklin formerly coached Little League baseball and wrestling and enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard N. and Jennifer Bartholomew of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Bradley J. and Annalisa Bartholomew of New York City; one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon L. and Chip Thomas of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Tyler, Kylie, Zachary and Branson; three brothers, Clayton Bartholomew of Trevorton, Paul Bartholomew of Northumberland and Robert Bartholomew of Snydertown; and three sisters, Mildred Knoebel of Sunbury, Shirley Mull of RD Selinsgrove and Joyce Heimbach of RD Sunbury.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, 1051 Catawissa Ave., Sunbury, with the Rev. Kurt Francis and the Rev. David Butler officiating.

Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Franklin's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
