Franklin Delano Bushwack, 80, passed away January 29, 2017, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, CT after complications from influenza. He was born in Johnstown, PA, November 25, 1936 to the late Mary and Michael Bushwack, attended Lorain Borough High School and served in the United States Army, Pentagon, Washington, DC. Retired from General Dynamics, Electric Boat in Groton after 23 years of service. Right Worshipful Franklin Delano Bushwack belonged to many Masonic Organizations. He was a past Master of Somerset-St. James Lodge #34, 50 year member, Thrice Potent Master of King Solomon Lodge of Perfection, Most Wise Master of Norwich Chapter of Rose Croix, Commander-in-Chief of Connecticut Consistory and Recipient of the Arthur M. Brown Meritorious Service Award. He was a member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Norwich, Sphinx Temple, AAONMS, Nemrod Grotto, MOVPER, New London Masonic Club, and Sojourners. He was an avid camping enthusiast and member of Connecticut 1 Chapter 6 National Camping Travelers since 1990 and Past President of the National Camping Travelers (Masonic group) in 1994-1995. Chapter State Director 1994-1996 and National Photographer from 1997-1999. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cleda C. Bushwack, three children, son Alan Bushwack and his wife Roberta of Mystic, CT, son Mark Bushwack and his wife Rose of Montville, CT, and daughter Diana and her husband John Bartizek of Raleigh, NC, Brother Michael(Bud) Bushwack and his wife Sharron of Johnstown PA. Donations may be made to Masonicare Home & Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children. Celebration of Life to be held April 30th 2:00pm Somerset-St James Lodge, Preston, CT. All the fun at Amos Lake ! We have wonderful happy memories of camping and all the pranks we pulled on each other ! Frank will truly be missed and is a precious part of our memories. Most sincere sympathies to Cleda and Alan, Mark and Diana.
