Franklin Hoover Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 10 to Feb. 13, 2018.
Frank C. Hoover, 76, Luthersburg, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at his home by his loving wife, Ruby.

Born September 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Jay and Martha (Johnson) Hoover.

On August 31, 1963, he married Ruby M. Morgan in Luthersburg at St. Luke's United Church of Christ. They celebrated 54 years of marriage together. She survives.

Frank graduated from the DuBois Area High School in 1959. After graduation, Frank started working at Skat Oil Company. During his career, he worked as a manager for Skat Oil Company, as well as at Glen Irvin Miners Corporation, London Brothers, and as the custodial coordinator for the DuBois Area School District at the DuBois Area Middle School. He retired in June of 2012.

Frank liked to go on daily road trips antiquing, eating at different restaurants, and collecting American Eagles, of which there are many. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. As a young boy, he won the fishing rodeo at the Tannery Dam. He was very proud of this accomplishment. Frank and his wife, Ruby, always traveled together when they went anywhere. They never went any place without the other. Frank was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Luthersburg.

He was proud of helping his cousin remodel the inside and outside of his family's home to make it look like a little log home. His wife is proud of what he has done for her, and his memory and love will live on through their home.

Frank was very proud of his two granddaughters, Brittany Lynn and his great-granddaughter, Isabella Rae. He is survived by both.

Frank will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by a sister, Patty O'Harrow, a sister-in-law, Susan Carlson, as well as several nieces and a nephew.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a son, Brian D. Hoover.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Friday, February 16, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. A funeral service will follow Friday's visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Bob Newell officiating. Frank will be laid to rest beside his loving son, Brian, at St. Luke's United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Although flowers are appreciated, memorial donations may be sent to St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 4229 Golden Yoke Road, Luthersburg, PA 15848.

My heart goes out to you, Ruby, at this time. Working with both you and your beloved Frank for many years at the DuBois Area Middle School, I can honestly say you were more than co-workers.....you were my friends. I enjoyed many wonderful conversations, sharing a laugh, and learning about gardening and antiques. Your relationship with each other was unique. I treasure my special memories of you both.
