Celia Spinosa Vescuso was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 23, 1924 to Lucy, a seamstress, and a cabinetmaker Ettore. She graduated from high school in Brooklyn. Celia married Guido Vescuso, also from Brooklyn, in 1946. After Guido's service in the US Army Signal Corps in Europe in WWII, the couple moved to Manhattan, KS, where Guido earned a Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University in Electrical Engineering. They lived in Baltimore, MD briefly then moved to Raritan Township, NJ until it was renamed Edison Township in 1954. The family moved to North Edison in 1962 and remained there until Guido's passing in 1997.

Celia was a career homemaker and had four children, Thomas of Atlantic City, NJ (b. 1948), William of Piscataway, NJ (b. 1950), Paul of Edison, NJ (b. 1954) and Donna Edwards of Jacksonville, FL (b. 1959). She was a dedicated grandmother to Marissa Vescuso Leonhardt, Michael Vescuso, Matthew Vescuso, Brian Perry, Jennifer Perry and Amanda Edwards. She is survived by her sister, Helen DeAngelo of Brooklyn, NY and is predeceased by her brother, Rino Spinosa. Celia and Guido enjoyed extensive traveling in their retirement years including trips to Florida, the Western US, Atlantic City and several trips to Europe. They also attended many Moose Lodge events together. Celia moved to Jacksonville, FL in 2001 to live near and with Donna. Celia went to God on May 17, 2013.

Visitation will be Friday, May 24th, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima on Saturday, May 25th, 2013 at 10:00AM in Piscataway. Burial to follow at Holy Redeemer, South Plainfield.
