James Frederick Hill

FELTON - James Frederick Hill went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 23, 2016. He passed peacefully at hom,e surrounded by family and friends while listening to his favorite music. The cause of his death was complications due to primary cardiac amyloidosis, which he had been battling for over two years. James was a beautiful soul who always put his family first. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed playing cards, woodcarving, watching his favorite TV shows "CSI" and "NCIS," participating in church activities, and telling stories. James was an Army Veteran and a hard worker, who dedicated 30 years of his life's work to Chesapeake Utilities in Dover, 15 years at the United Parcel Service in Harrington, and a short time at the Milford Walmart in the Lawn and Garden department. He celebrated Christmas this year with his dearly beloved wife, Angela who preceded him in transition to the Spirit World in 2012; his parents, Lawrence Kemp Hill, Sr. and Edna Rebecca "Betty" Pinder; and his brother, Lawrence "Bucky" Hill, Jr. James is survived by his loving daughter, Amanda Dorsey and her husband, Todd, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; his beloved cat, Myst "Kitten-Butt"; and two grandkitties, Jasmine and Rajah. He is also survived by five sisters, Shelia Lomax and her husband, Jerry, of Townsend, Theresa Fisher and her husband, Clem, of Muskogee, Okla., Becky Jewell and her husband, Donnie, of Centreville, Md., Kristan Adkins and her husband, Frank, of Greenwood, and Marchelle Barcus, of Dover; and one brother, Clinton "Gene" Hill and his wife, Joy, of Felton. Family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. A Life Celebration will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at 10:45 a.m. at Felton-Viola United Methodist Church, 101 E. Main St., Felton for both James and Angela Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Felton-Viola United Methodist Church or the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
