Funeral services for Fred Ham were held in Atoka, Oklahoma, on March 10, 2015. Fred passed away suddenly at his home in Houston, Texas, on March 4 at the age of 75.His burial was in West View Cemetery in Atoka.
Fred was the son of Frank and Alma McClary Ham. Born May 4, 1939, he was raised in Atoka and graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1958. Fred was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Fred served in the Air Force three years, being stationed in France and the Belgian Congo. Upon returning home, he worked in the area of electrical and refrigeration for a time before he and his family moved to Houston, Texas. There he became an employee of NASA and later obtained a position with the Texas Department of Transportation.
Life was a lot of fun for Fred after his retirement, because he spent time with his children and grandchildreno enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing golf with old friends, and watching television. He had a special son, Ricky, who lives in Ada and was visited by Fred on regular occasions.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ham, his mother and step-father, Alma and Raymond Miller, long-time residents in Atoka, his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs Roy G. Ham and Wiiliam B. and Maud McClary, brothers, Harold Lee Ham and Jerry Wayne Miller and a brother-in-law, Ken Cornelison.
Surviving Fred are his wife, Julie Walker Ham, his children, Jeana and Michael Justus, Joey and Rhonda Ham, Ricky Ham, Cathy and Brent Barwacz, Casey and Kathryn Dollins Ham; grandchildren, BJ Justus, Emily Sanders, Cody, Riley, and Zachary Ham, Stevie and Logan Page, Jacinda and Eden Isbell, Shea Colin, Quillan and Gwyn Ham and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Frankie Story Cornelison of Durant, Royce Lee and husband Gene of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Marie Marmon and Linda Adamson, both of Dallas, Texas, and one brother, Kenneth Miller of Aurora, Co.
Services for Fred Ham were under the direction of Brown's Funeral Home in Atoka with Bro. Arvel Hall officiating. Pallbearers were BJ Justus, Logan Page, Cody and Riley Ham, and Junior and Doug Ishmael. Fred will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
