Fred M. Lester

February 10, 1936 - January 19, 2023

Life left us with less laughter and love on Thursday, January 19th.

Fred M. Lester passed away peacefully at his home with his loving and heartbroken family by his side. Fred has left us to join family, friends and others to serve our lord above.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Amalia. His brother Rudy. His daughter Lynne.

He is survived by his wife Mary of 67 years. His sons Steve (Angie), and Bryan. His two grandchildren Grayson and Riley.

Fred M. Lester was born February 10, 1936 in Los Angeles, CA. A true Angelenos, with Fred their was never a need for a Thomas Guide or map of L.A when navigating through the city. He would give you multiple routes in getting to your destination. As a child and throughout his life, Fred roamed, visited, patronage and worked in the City of Angels. He attended Fremont High School where he met his high school sweetheart Mary Margaret Moore. Shortly After graduating Fred and Mary were married and he was employed by General Motors. Working three jobs at once, Fred decided to leave G.M. Upon his departure from General Motors, Fred's feelings were that G.M was going to shut down because he was leaving the company. That did not happen. But it instilled him with these life lessons that he would tell us throughout the years.

1 - You are never bigger than the company.

2 - Always treat people the way you want to be treated.

After a few jobs Fred found his true calling working as a salesman. Having discovered his calling why not be your own boss.

Fred then started his own business called F & S Supplies selling receipt paper and cash register ribbons. Selling to most of the major grocery stores and multiple restaurants chains in the LA basin. His company lasted from 1976 until his retirement in 2012. Fred also worked as a headhunter during this time landing many clients with high-level executive positions.

Fred's passions were his family, friends, traveling, music (Especially jazz), movies, love of laughter, the sweet science, telling jokes, dancing, going out for lunches, being a food lover, magic, Mary's cooking, his interest in how you and your family are doing, being on time and giving your best effort in what ever you're doing.

Fred was a master story teller! He always made it that you felt you were there and wanted to be with him as he relayed one of his wonderful, humorous life stories.
