Oconomowoc - Fred William Morgan, 78, died peacefully on August 23, 2024 in Oconomowoc WI. He was born November 13, 1945 and grew up on a farm in Kentland, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University and earned his doctorate at Michigan State University in the field of marketing.

Fred retired as a full professor after 49 years and taught marketing to thousands of students. Fred was on the faculty at The University of Oklahoma as the Siegfried Professor in Marketing, where he also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law. He later joined The University of Kentucky as the Ashland Professor of Marketing, where he also held leadership roles, including Director of the MBA Program and Director of the School of Management. Fred then moved to Wayne State University assuming the role of Department Chair.

Fred was a devoted husband and father, and is survived by his wife, Margaret Hughes-Morgan, his son, Todd Morgan and daughter-in-law Stefana Morgan, M.D. of San Francisco, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred Sr. and Bertha, and his sister, Jo Ann.

He was a master at picking teams in the NCAA basketball pools and helped his family members win several. He loved his dogs, rooting for Spartan sports teams, and spending time with his family and friends. Fred's keen wit would light up a room. He was a class act and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date on Saint Simons Island, Ga. Memorials may be directed to The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County (HAWS) at 701 Northview Road, Waukesha, WI 53188, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, or a charity of the donor's choice.
