Fred Oshima Obituary

OSHIMA FRED K. OSHIMA (Age 81) Of Alexandria, VA died at his home on Thursday May 14, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mie A. Oshima; his daughter, Marsha A. Oshima; his two sons, Ronald K. Oshima and Wayne A. Oshima; two grandchildren, two sisters, Ann Oshima and Mary Hirose; two brothers, Elmer S. Oshima and Richard I. Oshima. Fred is preceded in death by his son, Donald K. Oshima. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Fred''s life on Friday May 22, 2009 from 12 Noon to 1:30 p.m. at Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alexandria, VA 22314. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Japanese American National Museum, or to the American Cancer Society.

It is with great sadness to learn about Mr. Oshima's death. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family. While the death of a loved one is a great tragedy, it does remind us of the wonderful times spent together, filled with many happy and precious memories. My thoughts and prayers are shared with you in your grief.
