Fred Seifert Obituary

Fred "Smiley" Seifert, Sr. of Warwick, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Schervier Pavilion. He was 87.

The son of the late Fritz and Wilma Seifert, he was born January 4, 1920 in Garfield, N.J. He was the widower of Sophie Seifert.

A graduate of New York University, Fred was the proprietor of the Pioneer Tavern in Hewitt, N.J.

Survivors include his children: Audrey Anderson of Harriman, Phyllis Scheuermann of Montgomery, Stanley Streczyk of Corydon, Ind., Fred W. Seifert, Jr. of Carmel, and Ronald Streczyk of Hawley, Pa.; as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Strong-Basile Funeral Home, 75 Main St., Warwick, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

Arrangements are by Strong-Basile Funeral Home.
