FRED SHADDICK September 10, 1931 - July 7, 2005 Age: 73 Years Old Fred Shaddick was born in Calgary, Alberta and attended school in Red Deer. He received his Paratrooper Wings while serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. He then became a member of the Calgary Police Force for six years before becoming a Sales Representative with Schenley Distillers. His lifetime career in the automotive aftermarket industry began with Monroe Auto Equipment in 1963 as the Sales Representative for Southern Alberta. He was named Sales Manager in 1971 and promoted to Vice President of Sales for Canada in 1972. In 1979, he was named a Director of Tenneco Canada Corporation. From 1986 until his retirement in 1988, Fred was the Vice President of Customer and Industry Relations with Tenneco Automotive. Following his career with Monroe Auto Equipment, Fred accepted a position with the City of Owen Sound as the Economic Development Director and held this position until 1993. During his retirement, Fred resided in both the Owen Sound area and in Pompano Beach, Florida. Throughout his career, Fred was also responsible for initiating an automotive industry charity golf tournament for Muscular Dystrophy known as “Shad's R&R.� Since the tournament's inception in 1973, the charity event has raised approx. $3,000,000.00. He also was a true, faithful and worthy Noble of the Mystic Shrine, in the Rameses Temple of Toronto. Fred was a dynamic public speaker, whose sense of awareness, humour and creative thinking has provided entertainment for many audiences. He will be sadly missed by his family: his loving companion,Rosemary Southworth; sister,Deanna; daughter,Barbara (Duane);son,Brad(Angie);andfive grandchildren(Amanda,Benjamin,Kendra,Kayla & Connor). The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at: St. George's Anglican Church 1049 Fourth Ave. East Owen Sound, Ontario A Reception will immediately follow the service at: Bayshore Community Centre (The Bay Room) 1900 3rd Ave. East Owen Sound, Ontario As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada or to the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. Shad,

One of the greatest inspirational speakers I have ever had the previledge to hear. As a young Monroe salesmen Fred always had time for me.

I have had the pleasure to play in Shad's R&R and appreciated all that he has done for that charity.

Freddy will be missed by all, he was a man's man.
