Fred J. Shoop, 95 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016, at his home. Fred was born on November 16, 1920 in Green City, Missouri to P.W. and Reta (Snyder) Shoop. On September 18, 1942 in Memphis, Missouri he married Margaret Louise (Franklin) Shoop, she survives him of the home. Also surviving: two sons, Jack Shoop of Milan, and Jim Shoop and wife Nancy of Mendon, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Jaci Sayre(Larry), Rodney Shoop(Terry), Leighton Shoop(Kim), Kim Chastine(Ron), and Jordan Shoop; 6 great grandchildren, Josh Huck, Megan Tarpening, Matthew Shoop, Alyssa Kennedy, Molly Shoop, and Aaron Chastine; 5 great great grandchildren, Preston Tarpening, Kingston Tarpening, Nevaeh Kennedy, Celeste Huck, and Tynzlee Tarpening. He was preceded by: his parents; a brother, John Perry Shoop; and a sister, Ramah Carol Shoop. Fred lived in Sullivan County most of his life. He enjoyed eating and visiting with people, he would often ask, "Who are you?" and "Where are you from?" Fred loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services for Fred will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, March 4, 2016 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. A visitation is scheduled for two hour prior to the service, starting at 12:00 Noon. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
