Fred, as you and your Sweet Lorraine enjoy eternal life together in Heaven, a host of still-earthbound folks continue to be so thankful you were born! We are still in awe of the love you had for your Sweet Lorraine and the miracles that brought your song to fruition and helped you to reach out to countless people worldwide with your public witness of love and devotion. Thank you both, because without your Sweet Lorraine, there could not have been the hauntingly beautiful song and tribute to her. Remembering you through your great love as the third anniversary of your rejoining Lorraine in Heaven! <3 <3 <3

Thank you Fred; your story has actually helped me with a poem I've been working on to recite at a retreat this fall. It is centered around God's grace and watching your videos really touched me and helped the words flow for God's grace, his love and the gifts he gives us everyday. God bless the family and friends I know miss you deeply. You are a wonderful man.

I am so sadden by the loss of your dear Fred. I am a high school health teacher in Georgia at a large metro Atlanta high school, Sequoyah High. Each semester I use Fred's wonderful love story as a teachable experience of marrying the right person and how that brings an individual such a high quality of life. The students in my health education classes are so touched, some even to tears, when they reflect on this great love story. As a family, may God continue to bless you all for your willingness to share this sweet man's story with the world.

I did not know you personally but I knew your songs and the story of your wonderful life that you shared with your "sweet Loraine". I just lost my husband of 45 years on New Years Day and hope I can grieve with the same dignity you showed. My sympathies to your family.

Marcy and Valarie and the entire family, we are so sorry (and shocked) to learn of Fred's passing. He was just in last month and seemed like the same old Fred. He was truly one of our favorite patients and we will miss him! Wishing you peace in the upcoming days and months. He was a true gentleman. - The Staff of Miracle Ear: Mike, Bill, Maureen and Jenny.

We were lucky to spend time with Fred on various occasions. My husband always asked when family get togethers were planned with my sister if Grandpa Stobaugh would be there. What an amazing life he lived. We will miss seeing him, super geniune man. Prayers Marcy, Rocky, and Angie. Keep those wonderful memories in your hearts!! He was a blessing to the family and those who knew him.

Fred touched so many lives, although many of us were not blessed to know him personally. My dad passed away recently at the age of 89 and we payed Fred's song as one of the background music selections for the slide show. I'm sorry for your loss of such a kind man.

Oh My.. Fred SO much reminds me of my own Dad..! <3 Not only does he look and talk like him, but my Dad lost our Mom in 1969, and he never took off his wedding ring until he went home in 2005 (I made sure it stayed on his finger!) Bought her anniversary gifts & card each year to put in the house. I would love your your parents and mine to meet in Heaven for some root beer! <3 (my dad's best friend when he was young used to make root beer in his basement!) :-) This generation needs to know what real love is.. Fred and Lorriane's story wont fade but inspire more & more! Much Love and peace to your family! God Bless! <3 xxoo

Fred's love for his wife truly touched my heart. My own Mom died 3 years ago and I've watched what the loss has done to my own Dad. And hearing Fred's story reminded me of them. He truly sparked something inside of me with his words. I'll cherish the letter and the photos he sent me forever.

I hope his family finds solace in knowing he's with Sweet Lorraine again rejoicing and smiling upon them.

I was in shock when i saw his Obituary. I never meet him in person, but i saw him in A Letter from Fred | A Letter from Fred: The Complete Story on youtube years ago, he looked like a nice man and i loved the songs that were made with his letters. Forever Oh Sweet Lorraine in my top 10 song (of my most listened song of all time ).

He didn't take him away, He took him home... to her...

Fred wanted to tell the world about his love for his sweet Lorraine, and that he did. The world lost a wonderful soul, and I cannot imagine the pain the family is feeling right now.

Enjoy your reunion with your sweet Lorraine again, Fred!

Mr Stobaugh touched so many lives including mine. We all have things in life that we wished we had and my one wish was to be able to meet Mr Stobaugh. Someday I will... and when I do meet this amazing man and his beautiful wife I'll be able to thank them for giving us a small glimpse of a lasting love.

I hope Mr Stobaugh's family finds even a little bit of comfort knowing how many lives he touched.
