One of those highly talented souls who was great enough to play on the grandest of stages, but still take time to share with the people who could only play in one key. Fred was great and humble at the same time.

I would like to add my condolences to Mr. Dixon's family. I only knew Fred as Mr. Dixon as I was associated with him at Erie Rise.
May we remember him for everything he accomplished and for a heart bent toward helping others appreciate music as much as he did.
God bless.

Fred was not only a fellow musician, but my friend and brother. Many a time I would be stumped on how to play a passage of a song and Fred never thought it robbery to take the time to help. God bless and keep you family in the days to come.

When Fred joined our ministry,he brought along with him a gift of music that was one of a kind. His passion to use his gift to glorify God was very evident in his life. He took our choir to another level in Christ and for that we are very grateful to him. He is truly missed but we know he is with the Lord. He was a gentle spirit and a very kind man. I reflect on the good times we had at rehearsal and at Sunday dinners at Bishop Brock's residence. Family, know that God is the comforter and I pray for His peace in your lives.

I grew up with Frederick in Chicago. We sang in one of the best choirs ever heard. I remember when he first learned to play. He could play everything. Every extra moment was devoted to learning music. The last time I saw him was at our choirs 30th year reunion. He played and we all sang. He never forgot the songs we sang. He was a great friend, brother and grew to be all he could be. I thank God for the memories that I have. We have been friends for over 50 years. Heaven has great musican ..he's singing in the heavenly choir.

My mom, Beverly Davis, and I have both had the privilege of working with Fred Dixon at Erie Rise. He always had a warm smile and a kind word to give. I will always remember how hard he worked to give students a great musical education. He loved music and wanted to share his love with the world. I will also always remember how he played the piano at my dear friend Sam Martin's funeral. He did not have to do as much as he did, but he always would. My mom and I will miss him greatly. Rise is not the same without him.
