Frederick "Fred" William Lewis, Sr.

(September 8, 1934 - August 11, 2022)

Fred passed away August 11 at Lorain Mercy Hospital after a brief illness with family by his side. He was born in Elyria Hospital and a graduate of Camden School. He worked at General Motors and started his septic business in 1960, then retired in 2000. He was a Camden Township Trustee for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lois (Smith) Lewis; children, Irene Lewis, Frederick (Debbie) Lewis, Jr., Rose Ann (Dennis) Alferio, Linda (James Reed) Ewell, Melissa Bowman, and Mary Jane (George) Klingman; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Wilhelmina Lewis; siblings, Frances Lewis, Loretta DuBois, Jeanette Kolb, Robert Lewis, James Lewis, and Eleanor Morgan.

Friends may call on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be held on Monday, August 15 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be sent to charity of the donor's choice.
