A larger than life, happy and friendly man, I can remember his stories that were pretty amazing for a young 20YO when I first met Fred; the steamers carrying meat from South America and the bars of New York come to mind.
My sincere condonlences to the whole family, especially Gwen and Marcia.

Brian W Steele: Here a little story about your dad and I. When I was 12 y old I was staying around your place for a few days for some reason.
I was out the back yard doing some chin-ups in front of all you girls . I think I could do about 6, and you dad said I should be able to do 1 for each year old I was.
Well, I had to then practice a bit, and in a couple of days I showed your dad I could do 12. He made me feel good about it, and I was so proud of myself. Something I will never forget.

I believe that my brother was so right when he said in the eulogy that our father is not gone, he lives on in all of us, in our sayings and our actions. And when my sister said that as a child he was never allowed to play with the village boys, and he finally got to play with the village boys when he went to Boambee Gardens Retirement village, it is something that will remain in my mind forever.
We are overwhelmed by the number of people that attended our Dad's funeral and we have been told by many that it was the best funeral they have ever attended. It was a happy sad day. Thank you to all for making it a great farewell.

Love doesn't end with dying,
Or leave with the last breath,
For someone you loved deeply,
Love doesn't end with death.
Say not in grief “He is no more”,
But live in thankfulness that he was.

Love you forever, my Dad.

Thanks so much to all those who attended Dad's funeral, sent cards and flowers, and paid their respects; we were overwhelmed by the number of people who sent their condolences.
