Fredric T. Rekstis

Fredric T. Rekstis, peacefully passed away on April 7, two days before his 58th birthday. Fred was a graduate of Bay Village High School (1977), University of Cincinnati (1981) and Case Western Reserve University School of Law (1984). After law school, he served as a JAG in the Army from 1985-1988. When he wasn't practicing law, Fred liked to watch and read about American history, particularly the Civil War. He loved listening to Neil Diamond, CCR and Crosby, Still's & Nash, and had a tooth almost as sweet as he was. Anyone that crossed paths with Fred knew they were lucky enough to meet someone who was a genuinely compassionate, gentle and kind soul. He is survived by his three daughters (Emily, Lindsey, and Charlotte Rekstis), two brothers (Pete and Jack Rekstis), and is the son to the late Ruth Stipp and Walter Rekstis. Fred was a dear friend to many (too many to name) including Robert Meadows, Meg Rekstis (his partner for over 15 years), Durfee Betts, and many more. In lieu of flower memorials, please instead donate to HDSA in Fred's name. His interment will take place on Friday, April 28 at 2pm at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
