Fredrick Christian Thompson Lindsay Jr, age 88 of Montpelier, Idaho passed away April 28, 2024, at the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing Home surrounded by family after suffering many years with the debilitating disease - Lewy Body Dementia.

Fred was born January 20, 1936, in Mountain Home, Utah to Fredrick Christian Thompson Lindsay Sr and Alberta J Miles. Fred (Bud) was the oldest of three children. He went to elementary school in Mountain Home and graduated from Altamont High School where he played the trumpet in the band. He loved to learn and read, which continued throughout his life.

The girl from the farm down the road caught his eye at a dance and he and Shirley Lydia Mecham were sealed in the Manti Temple on July 26, 1956. Life was busy as they welcomed five children into their happy home; oftentimes they were running the automotive shop, chasing parts, farming, and milking cows while raising their family. Their adventurous spirits took them many places and Fred, a skilled diesel mechanic, worked on jobsites in Washington, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Wyoming and other far reaches of the West.

Retiring first in Palo Cedro, California and finally in Montpelier, ID meeting friends and spending time with their family. Fred was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he had a strong testimony, and served in many callings including ward clerk, ward mission leader, and with Shirley in the Medford Temple, the Addiction Recovery Program, and the Family History Library.

Fred enjoyed many activities including snowmobiling, restoring vintage snowmobiles, reading, working in his large garden, golfing, and all things genealogy.

Fred is survived by his wife, Shirl', three children, Bart (Donna) Lindsay, of Wildomar, California, Tauna (Steve) Stratton, of Palo Cedro, California, and Tamara (Dan) Fisher, of Montpelier, Idaho, nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and his two siblings, Cuba (Randy) Thompson, and Craig (Eileen) Lindsay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Christian Thompson Lindsay Sr and Alberta J Miles, his two children, Baby Mitch Lindsay, and Teresa Lindsay, and his great-grandson, Samuel Fisher.

Fred's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Crane, the staff and residents at the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Home, who treated Fred with much kindness, love, and patience.
