KLAMBAUER, Dr. Gabriel University of Ottawa Professor of Mathematics (30 years of Service - Retired) PHD - Hamilton McMaster University Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Agnes Hessling. Loving father of John, Francis (Patricia) and Peter (Nicole). Proud grandfather of Maximilian, Damian, Valerie and Nora. Gabriel will be dearly missed by "Chicken-Charlie" and many other feline friends. He took great interest in his field and over some years successfully published four textbooks. The family wishes to thank the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus and St. Vincent's Pavillion for the excellent care provided during the last 8 months. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 585 Somerset St. West (centretown) after 12 noon Tuesday. Funeral Tuesday to St. Albertus Pfarrgemeinde Church, 416 Parkdale Ave. for Mass of Christian Funeral at 1:30 p.m. Interment Hope Cemetery. In Memoriam donations to the Parkinson Society or the Humane Society appreciated. Du hast uns, o Gott, fuer Dich erschaffen und unser Herz ist unruhig, bis es ruht in Dir. (-St. Augustinus)

I was very sad to hear of Onkel Gabriel's passing. The many times I visited him and Tante Agnes over the years were special. I'll never forget the help he gave me in my first year university math studies; the only reason I passed Calculus was because of his help (I got an A-!) My thoughts and prayers are with the Klambauer family.
