Your son was beautiful, your recollections are earthshakingly descriptive and lovely, and I mourn with you for this wonderful child. Knowing you as a colleague, I better understand how such a son would develop and bless so many with his being. Dear Monica and family,
The memorial tonight was a beautiful heartbreaking tribute to a lovely person. What came through from your family and from the larger commmunity was the power of love. It's a testament to the kind of person Gabe was that so many people came together to remember him and say goodbye. It was an honor to be there to remember, to cry, to sing, to pray.
I have some fond memories of Gabe from school field trips when the kids were younger, and have been impressed by the young man he was becoming.
Please know we share your grief...and hope that the outpouring of love will make the coming days and weeks more bearable.
