Gabrielle Girard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 17, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that the family of Gabrielle Inez Girard announces the passing of their beloved sister on August 27, 2025. Gabrielle was born on May 23, 1955, to Dr. Louis Joseph and Bonita Inez (Crossnay) Girard in Glen Cove, New York.

After the family moved to Texas, Gabrielle attended St. Anne's Elementary, St. Mary's in San Antonio, and the University of St. Thomas in Houston. She later spent time in Spain before returning to Houston, where she taught English as a second language and eventually pursued her passion for painting. She was an accomplished artist who specialized in portraits, creating cherished works for many mothers and families. Gabrielle was a kind and loving soul who touched the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Michael Sandford "Sandy" Girard; her sister, Hilaire Michelle "Mickie" Richey; and her husband, Andrew C. SoRelle III.

She is survived by her sister, Suzanne Girard Thackston and husband Robert; her sister, Christina Girard; her brother, Hugh Ashley "Lee" Girard and Lady Anne Gammage; her brother, Louis M. Girard and wife Sophie; her stepmother, Louise Bell Girard; and her uncle and aunt, Malcolm and Margaret Beyer. She will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins,.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, the 25th of September, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3617 Milam Street, Houston, TX 77002

I have known Gabriella and her family since junior high. She was a beautiful person inside and out. We were good friends and she will be missed by everyone that ever had the good luck to know her. I know that the Lord has her firmly in his grasp.
She is now on to her new journey. I will see you on the other side dear friend.
Love to all the Girard family.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Gay´s family and friends. As a young girl, visiting Houston, I remember Gay as a beautiful vivacious young woman, I always wanted to be like her! My condolences to everyone. Cindy Bell, Louise Girard´s niece.
