Gail Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 4, 2025.
Gail A. Anderson, born on January 5, 1939, in Milford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 27, 2025, in New Haven, Connecticut. She was 86 years old.

With an angelic smile and a heart full of love, Gail drifted into eternal rest, surrounded by the warmth of cherished memories, the enduring bonds of family and undoubtedly guided by the loving hand of her daughter Sharon. Her passing brings both sorrow and solace to those who knew her-sorrow for the loss of her presence and solace in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved daughter Sharon (DeRoucher) Hotchkiss, as well as her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews who predeceased her. The family finds comfort in imagining them together again, dancing among the stars.

Gail's life was rooted in love for the simple joys: time spent with family and friends, walks along the beach, a good book in hand, and music that stirred the soul. Her strength and courage were legendary among those who knew her-qualities that earned her the affectionate title of "Super Woman." She touched many hearts with her unselfish love and unwavering spirit.

She is survived by her devoted son Earl "Duke" DeRoucher and loving daughter Gail (Gary) Benedetto. Her grandchildren: Chuck (Amanda) Hotchkiss, Shannon (Giuseppe) Coletta, Jason, and Ambere; her seven great-grandchildren: Gianna, Madison, Ava, Gracie, River, Mila, and Stella-each one a shining light that brought immense joy to Gail's heart.

Gail also leaves behind her cherished younger sisters-Lillian, Diane, Madeline (Punkin), Judy, Pammy, and Penny-as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her life. Her circle of dear friends further enriched her journey with laughter and companionship.

Though she has departed from this world, Gail's spirit remains ever-present in the lives she touched. Her memory will continue to inspire strength and love in all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Gone from sight but never from our hearts-"We are Family."

Mass will be held on August 9th, at 11:30am at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Avenue, Milford. Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to join at Bradley Rock West Haven to participate in her celebration of life with a scattering of her ashes.

Gail was the kindest person I have ever known. She cared for my two children after school for years and even just a few years ago she helped me care for my disabled brother. Gail was always there to help any way she could. She made everyone feel special. She was sunshine personified. We all loved her so much!

I have attached my son´s school project wherein he needed to describe who in his life was most like Jesus....and, of course, it was Gail.
