GAIL HARPER (72) passed away at her home in Hollywood, Florida on October 7, 2021. She was born on December 13, 1948, in Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Col. William H. Harper (USA Ret) and Jean Lipscomb Harper. She is survived by her husband Francis (Frank) M. Flynn, her brother Harry Harper, her sister Tina Harper, brother-in-law Don Swenholt, several cousins, many friends and her beloved cats.

After graduating from Florida State University, Gail lived in Washington, D.C. for a few years and then settled in New York City. In recent years, she split her time between New York and Florida. A fervent liberal Democrat, Gail always enjoyed a lively political discussion. Her other passions included a lifelong interest in the arts and a love of animals and nature. Gail had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing with Episcopal church choirs in New York and Florida. She also enjoyed singing other types of music, such as bluegrass and shape note. Her passionate spirit will be greatly missed.

Gail was part of a task force that was instrumental in desegregating housing in Leon County, Fl. in 1969. This action tipped the scales throughout the south.
