I always knew who Bob was, but really got to know him and Pat at the Madison Place Apartments. I am the hairdresser there and got the pleasure to see Bob's presence any time I showed up to do appointments. I always found him busy doing something there, from filling the coffee machine, emptying garbage, or just hanging out. We always had stuff to talk about when he got his haircut's, along with his dry sence of humor. RIP Bob. You will be greatly missed.

My family and I first met Bob, Pat, and the entire Messer family when we moved to our mini farm in 1974. As kids we knew him as a great neighbor; in fact two of my brothers worked for him in high school. Later as an adult I reunited with him at St. Stephens Lutheran Church where I looked up to him for his strong Christian principles and leadership. I can't wait to see you again Bob...set up the bowling pins
