Gail Theresa Lucarino

Castleton - Gail T Lucarino, after a long illness, passed away peacefully, on September 19, 2024,surrounded by family and friends.

Gail was born on June 30, 1947, in Newton, MA, the daughter of Francis M Conway and Lillian Higgins Conway. Brought up in Natick, Mass., she graduated from Natick High School. She attended Framingham State College, graduating in 1970. That year, she married her fellow FSC graduate, Gary Lucarino, and settled in Upton, Mass, eventually moving to Castleton, Vermont. Her career led her from teaching High School in Grafton, MA to banking positions at Framingham Savings Bank and Bay State Savings Bank, and eventually to Eckerd Youth Alternatives in Benson, VT.

Her love of cooking and caring for her family were her greatest joys in life. She was known for always baking and cooking delicious things, which is how she showed her love. Her bond with her granddaughter brightened her days and fulfilled her, as well as her relationships with her husband, daughter and son-in-law. Gail loved everyone she met with an open heart and put those she loved first. Her knack for staying positive and upbeat were some of her greatest strengths. She will truly and wholeheartedly be missed.

Gail was a proud member of the class of 1965 of Natick High School and found much support from the camaraderie and closeness in which those members hold each other.

Besides her parents, Gail is predeceased by her sister Jane and brother Robert. She is survived by her husband Gary, her daughter Gina Courcelle (Matt), her granddaughter Annelise Courcelle of Castleton, VT, sister Laura of Nenagh, Ireland, brothers Michael of Hopkinton, MA, and James of Durham, NC. as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Durfee Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven, VT 05743. Donations may be made to: Vermont Kidney Association, 1 South Prospect Street, 2309 UHC Med-Nephrology, Burlington, VT, 05401, or the charity of one's choice. A celebration of Gail's life will be held at a future date.
