Bradenton - With sadness we announce that Gail Patricia Maxwell, 76, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on November 20, 2023. She was surrounded by friends and family during her last week. Born on June 26, 1947, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was a smart, funny, and opinionated individual who was loved and will be greatly missed by her daughters, Kelly and Jill, her four grandchildren, her three brothers and their wives, and extended family and friends.

Gail had a passion for education and achieved academic excellence throughout her life. She earned a BA with Honors from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1969, and an M.Ed. from Johns Hopkins University in 1975. Gail began her career as an educator, teaching in Baltimore, MD. She then moved into the corporate world, and held positions of Director of Customer Service at several Fortune 500 Companies, including ADP. She eventually transitioned back to into education, and her final position was teaching English as a Second Language at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.

Gail had a wide range of hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader and enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She always had pets, her final being her beloved golden retriever Jack. She had a deep appreciation for music and the arts, and enjoyed attending the symphony and visiting museums. She traveled extensively in the Caribbean and Europe, and to visit her children and grandchildren. After living in Connecticut and Maryland for many years, she moved to the Tampa Bay area in the 1990's and was a resident of Bradenton, FL for the last twenty years. Gail loved the Florida weather and beaches.

No service is planned at this time, per Gail's wishes, but contributions in her name to the following charities are welcomed: Heifer International, Doctors Without Borders, and The Salvation Army. Gail will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
