Ms. Gail S. Respass
Ms. Phyllis “Gail” Singleton Respass, age 75, a resident of Washington, died Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Pruitt Health in Farmville.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2023 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Pastor Greg Ramsey. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens in Plymouth.
The following will serve as pallbearers: James Keith Elrod, Andrew Scott Respass, Noah Layn Respass, Elwood Ingalls, Gary Phelps, and Haiden Austin Respass. Dwight Hardison will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Ms. Respass was born in Beaufort County on September 5, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Ellison Singleton and Helen Bonner Tetterton. She was a homemaker, farm wife, and mother. Ms. Respass loved to cook for her family. She has owned and operated a dress shop and a hog operation.
Ms. Respass was an animal lover. She loved dogs and cats. She rode horses while rounding up cows on the farm. Ms. Respass was a member of the Plymouth and Greenville Saddle Clubs. She enjoyed trail rides and showing off her ribbons and trophies. Ms. Respass was a member of the Double S Training Stables show team. She enjoyed preparing for shows, giving clippings, haircuts, baths, and shoveling stalls. Ms. Respass also enjoyed gardening, decorating, and singing in church. She learned how to drive the largest tractor with a Rhino breaking plow in the Belhaven Fourth of July parade.
Ms. Respass is survived by her daughter, Ginger Gale Respass Elrod and husband, James of Washington; her son, Justin Scott Respass and friend, Mandy Rivers of Raleigh; seven grandchildren, James Keith Elrod, Andrew Scott Respass and wife, Hollie, Kellie Elrod Gardner and husband, Josh, Noah Layn Respass, Haiden Austin Respass, Harper Addison Respass, Zane Alexander Respass; one great grandchild, Colson Baker; and sister, Lynne Ellison Singleton of Tampa, FL.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Respass was preceded in death by a son, Keith Allen Respass.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM Monday, April 3, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of her daughter, Ginger Elrod, 413 Bay Drive, Washington.

So very sorry for your lost. Prayers are lifted for her family. Did not know her personally but I knew her sister Lynne. We went to school together.
