Gale L. Dillion 72 of Mt. Sterling died Thursday January 2, 2014 in the Madison County Hospital. He was born in London, Ohio September 30, 1941 a son of Donald and Pauline (Henry) Dillion. Gale worked many years at Tanner-Robinson Lumber Co. in London, at Throop Martin Wholesale Sash & Door, retired from Columbus Wood Products in 2007, was a member of the Newport United Methodist Church and was Clerk of Range Township for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Esther (Anthony) Dillion; sons Kevin and Eric Dillion both of Mt. Sterling, daughter Jennifer Dillion of Hilliard; his pride and joy, grandsons Tanner and Wyatt Dillion; brothers Lowell (Shirley) Dillion, Jim (Sharon) Dillion both of London; sister Chloe Anna (David) Vitalis of Fairfax, Virginia and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. The family invites friends to call at the Newport United Methodist Church on Sunday January 5th from 2-6 PM, where a celebration of Gale's life will be held Monday January 6th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeff Smalley officiating. Interment will follow in Range Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Newport UMC, envelopes will be available at the church.
