I was so shocked to hear today, of the passing of Galen. He was the youth pastor of my church, Azusa Foursquare Church, from Junior High and High School. He developed the programs, kept things fun but assured we were all spending time in the Word, and learning about our Lord. Many young people came to the Lord through the ministry he led at Azusa. He was particularly helpful to me, growing up without a father and a single mom who was struggling with four teenagers. Many years later after college, Galen performed my wedding up in Big Bear, which was particularly sentimental, as he helped guide me through many years of my youth. I'll never forget the years he worked on bringing old cars back to life behind the church to supplement his income to support his family, while always being available to the youth at our church. His sense of humor, and ability to dig deep but also balance things in the mind of a young person, was an amazing gift. He will be missed sorely by many. I know I have thought of him regularly throughout my adult life while I was rearing a large family, and thanked God for bringing him into my life so many years ago.

May you rest in peace Dad!!! My heart aches and I still have so many questions. But for today I will remember your great sense of humor your laugh your smile. The great memories of the fun bus! Oh how you could light up a room and have everyone laughing with your silly sense of humor. You were incredibly talented with your hands!!! You could make anything out of wood desks, the staircase, entertainment center and shelves only to name a few. You knew everything about cars could not only get them going but making them look beautiful as well. Such great talent I will always admire. I still remember when you printed your professional 8x10 business picture and signed them all to pass around as a Christmas gift to the family!!! A great white elephant we just laughed and laughed!!!! My smoothies still can't top yours. Yours were always perfect!!! With this I say I love you, always have, always will!!! I look forward until we meet again!!!! I do find comfort in knowing your with Mimi she's waited a long time for yor you!!!

I'm so hurt to hear about your passing. The family all has questions, but at this time we are grieving the loss of a Father, Brother someone we have missed for several years. We have so many fond memories that we can keep in our hearts forever. See you again someday. Love you, your sister, Gloria

I met Gaylen when we both were Freshman at Portland Christian High School. We were best of friends for many years past graduation. He always was a character and loved to laugh. We had so many good times together. So sad he's gone.
