We have all lost a great friend this week. Growing up just a few houses away from the Olsons, was a privilege. Mickey and Dale were like everyone's second parents .... I remember hours and hours spent in their pool and raiding the fridge with Jeff and Steve, yet they never complained, we were always welcome. I am a better person for knowing them.

The final step in becoming "adult" is when there is no one left to call you "my child."
Growing up... Mrs. "Mickey" Olson looked after not only me, but nearly every kid in the neighborhood for blocks around. The Olson home WAS "The Village" that raised the children everyone knows today. Summer vacation from school, Friday nights after bowling(Charley and Millie's PIZZA!) and Christmas. Especially CHRISTMAS. The Olson family Christmas parties started early and ended only when EVERYONE on the block and then some stopped by for Holiday Spirit. Old School Party... Where GREAT food and conversation were the stars of the night. I could go... On and on...

I would not be the "Steven Lindsay Thomas" I am today had it not been for the love and nurturing of Mickey Olson and her Family. I loved her as I do my own Mother. God Bless

Love
Steven
