Garth Albert Evans

Garth will always be remembered for his contributions to to Minerva High School. As a coaching comrade, he was the best.

Mr. Garth Evans was my accounting teacher in high school at Minerva, Class of 1993. As someone mentioned here, he was intimidating at first. That changed once you gave him some time and got to know him. He was a great teacher. If you ever had a question about something, you could always go to him to ask. He constantly talked about his wife and family during class. I still remember that after all this time. I am thankful for the opportunity to have been taught by this man. Thinking of your whole family in thoughts and prayers at this time.

I was so sad to hear of the loss of Garth. He was like a second father to me growing up. He welcomed me into your family with open arms and I can't thank him and your entire family enough. I'm a better person for knowing him. You have my deepest sympathy. May God bless you!!

Mr evans was my goverment teacher my senior year 93 at first I was terrified because of the older kids saying he was a tuff nut to crack well he turned out to be a teacher that still to this day I have not forgotten he was a wonderful teacher he was attentive and helped when you needed it he was a great teacher at Minerva for many years my heart goes out to the family in this time of need know that he left a lasting impression on every student he had Lisa Plott class of 93 go lions

Garth Evans was one of those special teachers that not only taught academics but also taught values and respect. He held a classroom that stayed with you many years after graduation. He was a wonderful man! My heart goes out to his family.

And for driving that little car that always made me giggle:) You didn't just teach government, you also taught accountability for human beings. I had Mr. Evans for Government Class in my Senior year. He caught me chewing gum in his class and I had a 250 word report due on "Dental Hygeine" the following day. He was an amazing man & teacher! Mr. Evans was one of the best teachers I had at Minerva High School. He will Be Missed By All Of His Former Students. All my prayers go out the the Evans Family.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Evans. I was his football secretary all though high school. He was such a great person and teacher. He was so intimidating until you got to know him, then you found out how gentle and caring he really was. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, Mr. Evans will be forever missed.

I'm very sorry to hear of Garth's passing. I began my teaching career in Minerva with him in 1992. He was a wonderful teacher and true motivator to his students. We had many conversations about Lincoln because he graduated with my mom and played B-ball with my dad. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Evans was one of my all time favorite teachers. He is the reason that I went on to get my accounting degree. I learned a lot from him and feel fortunate to have had him as a teacher.

My condolences to your family. Garth gave me the opportunity to be his student teacher back in 1989 at Minerva and I am forever indebted to him for that. He treated me like he had always known me from day one and gave me a lot of great advice that I still use to this day. He was a great man. God Bless and our prayers are with you.

Your family has my sympathy. I taught with Garth for my first few years at Minerva. He was a great example of setting high expectations and then giving students the tools to meet them. I will keep you all in my prayers.
