Gary A Abendroth "Guitar Gary"

Gary convinced me he could make an object spin with his mind. He did it, I saw it with my own eyes.My favorite memory is the day we went for a walk deep in the woods, and walked the railroad tracks.Gary's wish for us was to dress, sing the song by Meatloaf, Dancing by the Dashboard Light. We did it.I moved to Fort Atkinson in March of 2018. Gary called me and said" If you feel homesick and dont feel like smiling always remember to hang upsidown as a frown would be a smile.Gary taught me how to play the keyboard. Then showed me his one man band song, You dont know what its like, by Tom Petty.The craziest thing he ever asked me to do was move a church organ to the house he was protecting for our other dear friend, Mr. WILLIAM RIP.Gary and I always talked about how we believed we were earth angels.Music was Garys passion he showed me videos of himself in the band.He was a very kind, funny, talkative giving man. We had so much fun.I will and have missed him more than one could ever imagine. I love you brother.RIP My thoughts and prayers will be with Garys family and friends at this time.

Gary, Sure added to life here at the Veterans Home! Conversation starter, befriender, and always rooting for the underdog! Gary's sense of humor, and spark will definitely be missed. He made a lot of people smile and laugh. Gary truly will be missed. It was an honor and privilege to know him.

Gary was a breath of fresh air here at the Wisconsion Veterans Home in Union Grove. He always had a positive attitude and something pleasant to say to everybody. He was a champion for those who needed befriending and an encourager to those who were feeling down. I loved watching him in Chapel services as we would discuss faith and how it had changed us. His eyes would twinkle every time he had an opportunity to worship. He is greatly missed!

Gary was quite the social butterfly at the Veterans Home. He was always encouraging others to join activities and was a true member advocate. He was friendly and welcoming to all new members who came to the Veterans Home. His sense of humor will be missed by all.

Gary loved his Wisconsin sports teams. I had the pleasure of talking to Gary many times about watching the games. He will be missed by staff and other members at the Veterans Home.

Dear Gary, Iam so glad that I an Doug were able to help you thru your illness.
I enjoyed my visits with you at the VA home ,we had alot of fun playing bingo,visiting your VA buddies,an enjoying the time outdoors.I will miss that so much. My favorite memory is when you with Doug surprised me with the blow up Reindeer.Every Christmas that was beside our Christmas tree. It was passed down to Jenny and Nicole.I have pictures of myself with Jenny ,Nicole before the patch in a hole could not save my reindeer.I will treasure the fond memories of our yearly trips to Waupaca Wi. You loved to fish with dad while in the paddle boat. You were strong an found peace with the Lord. I can already hear you singing an playing the guitar-Born to Run,a that you were.
You will be missed . I love you dear brother,from your sister Nancy.

My best memories of you will live in my heart forever. You always were a happy go lucky uncle. Enjoyed the dinners at my house an grandpa an grandmas. The best memory is spending time with you at the cottage in Waupaca an the great grill cheese sandwiches you made for me.

Dear Brother Gary,
