Big sister here...We were best buddies. Gary was bright, smiling, a happy place for the little me and a lifelong caring, supportive friend/brother.

As I look at my relationship with Gary, I realize how much I will/already miss him. I only knew him for 2.5 years, but it seemed like longer - yet not near long enough. He always knew how to put a smile on my face. We worked an install together during the pandemic and we spent hours "together" before ever meeting each other face to face. He was an outstanding Systems Programmer. He was a witty, fun, intelligent, patient, and a well-versed on many subjects. He was a gentleman. I more than enjoyed working with him and wish I had additional opportunities to gain more of his wisdom and get to know him better. I looked forward to seeing his online messages and it always touched me when he´d ask about my mom, because it was obvious that he really cared. I think about him often and am comforted to know our paths will cross again.

Gary was a great person to work with. He was very kind, gentle, humble, and willing to share knowledge with us. He will be remembered and missed.

Gary was truly a very kind and helpful person. I worked with him on a couple of projects during his time working at Texas Instruments. He was always willing to help and shares his knowledge. He will be missed.

Gary was my co-worker over these last 27 years across 4 different companies with 7 employers (one company buys, another company merges, relocates ...) but most of all Gary became my good friend.
And that was not unique with Gary. For those that got to know him he was a quiet hard working person who kept mostly to himself. He was always willing to help in any situation. His work nature was "helpful and knowledgeable" to put it mildly.
He was a great worker individually but also among any project or team member he worked with. A perfect team player all the time.
We often encounter impatient even angry customers who just "want the computer to work" in this type of business environment.
It took a lot to rattle Gary to even think a harsh word ... never mind actually voice any displeasure about any task, event, or person.
So many programming projects together. So many challenges. So many long nights and weekends.
Gary had a great work ethic and an amazing quiet sense of humor.
One Saturday night (2002) during a long trouble shooting session (in those days you drove into the office for every major problem) after we had returned the production systems back over to the customer ...
... we were all exhausted and waiting to be released to return home ... Gary smiles at the group of us and says - "You know we are all like cell phones" We looked at each other, our cell phones, and though Huh?
"Nights and Weekends are FREE".
We all grimaced. Gary just continued to smile. I´m going to miss you my friend.
