Gary W. DeLaney, 61, doing what he loved best, passed away October 31, 2014, at Hunting Camp in Alma, NY after harvesting his last buck with a crossbow.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen (Morvay) DeLaney, both of Forrest Hills, Pittsburgh, PA.



Surviving are Gary's wife of 31 years, Roseanna (Babish) DeLaney of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Johnstown; his son, Garrett E. DeLaney of Camp Hill; and many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.



Gary worked for Black Box Network Services for many years. He was a member of Letterkenny Rod and Gun Club; Mechanicsburg Sportsman Association; the Yellow Breeches Anglers Club; and a life member of the North American Hunting Club. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan, Gary enjoyed hunting deer, duck, geese, boar and bear as well as fishing trout and salmon. His favorite movies included the original version on 'The Thing' and 'Darby O'Gill and the Little People.'



Gary loved his "bromances" with his son, brothers-in-law, co-workers, and his hunting and fishing buddies. He loved people and was known by many as "Dad," "My smiling Irish Eyes," "The Telephone Man," "Dino Garr," "Pork Chop,"Gareeee,"The G-man,"and "Uncle Buck."



Gary's wife and son will receive family and friends for a Celebration of Life, December 13, 2014, 1:00 P.M. at the West Shore Elks Bpoe #2257, in Camp Hill, PA.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Yellow Breeches Anglers and Conservation Association, P.O. Box 1, Boiling Springs, PA 17007; or to your local ASPCA.
