Gary Duzy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 23, 2025.
Gary Duzy, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 13, 2025, in Algonquin, Illinois. He was 82 years old.

Born on November 16, 1942, in Mililwaukre Wisconsin, Gary's life was marked by a deep love for the skies and the great outdoors. His early years in Wisconsin instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for nature-an affection he carried with him throughout his life through boating and spending time outside.

Gary proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His military service not only reflected his dedication to duty but also deepened his passion for aviation. That passion extended beyond personal enjoyment; Gary found great fulfillment in sharing his love of flying with others. He was known for teaching aspiring pilots how to fly, passing along both skill and inspiration to those who learned from him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Suzan; and their children: Catherine; Sara and her husband Travis; Caroline and her husband Nicholas; Elizabeth and her husband Michael; and Michael and 10 grandchildren. Gary's legacy lives on through them and through all those whose lives he touched with kindness and generosity.

A man of quiet strength and enduring warmth, Gary will be remembered for the joy he found in flight, the peace he found on the water, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him . An open house celebration of Life will be held on November 29, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Pilot Pete's Restsurant 905 W Irving Park. Schaumburg Airport
