Gary Richard Gochnour

Kind, Intelligent, "Space Explorer"

Passed suddenly of a heart attack at the VAMC, WY. Born 6/15/37 in Seattle, son of Lt.Col.(Ret.) Floyd Gochnour and Thelma Cole. Was Eagle Scout as an "Army Brat" in Germany.

After HS, he joined the Army, and earned a parachutist badge. He met his wife while attending Army Language School in CA; then did a tour in Vietnam as an interrogator. After 13 years Service, he graduated from the UW, and attended Tulane U. He and his (then) wife owned the Columns Hotel in New Orleans. Gary is survived by two sons, Nathan (Mayra) and Eric (Ellen), and grandsons, Alex and William; also lovingly remembered by sisters, Dianne Suhara and Susie McGaughy and many relatives. A dear sister, Joby McAllister, is deceased.

Interment at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 S.E. 240th St., Kent, WA 98042 on October 29, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
