Gary Johnson City, TN B. Gray Gary B. Gray, Johnson City, TN died 10-09-2023 from complications of diabetes. Gary was born January 10, 1948 in Wilkinson, Indiana. He graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1966. Gary attended Ball State and Indiana Universities receiving Bachelors, Master of Library Science and Specialist in Library and Information Science degrees. He worked at Mt Vernon High School, 1970 - 1978 as school librarian. In 1978 he went to Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis to work in the library and media center. In 1988, he moved to Bristol, TN to work in the medical library at Beecham Labs. In 1990 he moved to Philadelphia to work in the library of the newly formed SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals. Complications of diabetes caused Gray to become disabled in 1996, he moved back to Tennessee.

Gary was proceeded in death by his parents John W. and Julia F. (Kemerly) Gray and a brother John M. (Mike) Gray. Gary is survived by his companion of 43 years, OP James Harper; one sister Janice and husband Jeff Silvey of McCordsville, IN; two brothers Larry and wife Cindy Gray of New Palestine, IN and Greg and wife Martha Gray of Greenfield, IN; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

There will not be any viewing or services. Memorial contributions may be made to : Washington County/Johnson City Animal Control Center, 3411 N Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601.
