Gary E. Groves, 56, Kansas City North, passed away Monday, January 29, 2007 at North Kansas City Hospital. A Celebration of Gary's life will be on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 6-8 PM at the Woods Memorial Christian Church, 417 Concourse, Excelsior Springs, MO. Gary was born on November 17, 1950 in Butler, MO the son of John R. and Virginia (Heckadon) Groves, and the grandson of Henry and Molly Heckadon of Foster, MO. He graduated from the North Kansas City School District and had attended Warrensburg College. On November 27, 1971 in Kansas City North, he married Linda (West) Groves. He retired as a salesman for Intercraft Industries. He attended Gracemor Christian Church in Kansas City North, and then later attended the Woods Memorial Christian Church in Excelsior Springs, MO. Survivors include his wife Linda Groves of the home; one son, John E. Groves and wife Donnelle of Parkville, MO; one daughter, Amy L. Hoffman and husband Thom of Kansas City North; his mother, Virginia Groves of Excelsior Springs, MO; one sister Beverly Barnes and her husband Rev. Terry Barnes of Excelsior Springs, MO and one sister-inlaw, Nancy Groves of Camdenton, MO. Gary was preceded in death by his father, John R. Groves and one brother Larry Groves.
