Gary Allen Hagan of Morrow, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Gary was born on November 1, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to the late George and Janeene (nee Deeley) Hagan.

Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Lemons) Hagan, children Ken (Amy) Hagan, Steve (Nikki Ross) Hagan, and Paul Hagan, grandchildren Andy Hagan, Tommy Hagan, Kate Hagan, Chris Hagan, Nick Hagan and Cadence Hagan, siblings Joy Ash, Mark (Erin Peak-Taylor) Hagan, brother-in-law Ken (Barb) Lemons as well as many loving family members.

Some of his fondest memories are of attending Camp Leelanau on Lake Michigan near Glen Arbor, where he developed skills in riflery, crafts and waterskiing. He earned the title of A-Camper and became a Counselor. He retained his love of fishing, hunting, boating, camping and the outdoors throughout his life.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at the University of Michigan where he met his future wife, Nancy. They were married for over 55 years.

They moved to Cincinnati when he took a job at Procter & Gamble and started a family, having three sons: Ken, Steve & Paul.

After 11 years at P & G, he became a real estate agent and after a couple more years and many transactions he became a broker and opened his own office, Hagan Real Estate.

He became interested in flying and earned his private pilot’s license with an instrument rating. He co-owned a Cessna Skyhawk with Bengals Head Coach Sam Wyche around the time the Bengals went to the Super Bowl.

He was later a Director of Finance for Toyota and earned many incredible vacation experiences around the world, such as traveling on a private charter of the Orient Express through the Swiss Alps and Italy.

He returned to real estate and took particular interest in creatively helping people solve real estate problems.

He excelled at woodworking, from cabinetry and custom framing to helping his sons and grandkids build competitive Pinewood Derby cars year after year.

He grew amazing tomatoes, peppers and many other organic vegetables, while somehow keeping the critters at bay. He also planted thousands of flowers for his grateful wife.

He was active in his Church and loved helping others, whatever the need.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 11:00 to 1:00pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio. Services will also be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 1:00pm at Mueller Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gary’s name to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, 620 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, Ohio 45215.

Ken, Steve, Paul, so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. Lots of great memories from the old neighborhood, including when he woke Ken and I up at 4am to go see Halleys comet. Next week will be 3 years ago that I lost my Dad, it can be difficult to come to grips with but family and friends always help. Sorry I could not make it down today, but hope we can catch up sometime.

My deepest condolences go out to Nancy, Ken, Steve and Paul. And the rest of the Hagan family too. Gary created so many great memories with me. From working together to flying together we always had such a great time. I still admire the fact that Gary could do anything he set his mind to do. He certainly will be missed.

Gary was a friend first but also the most amazing realtor for us. We found him to be an example of quiet 'rightness!' He lead us through any challenge we were met with in the entire process (and there were many)
and he did so with a quiet sense of Love. We love Gary. He taught us so much this last year alone. Susan and Colin
