Gary George Kiphart
April 15, 1943 - March 2, 2023
Clayton , North Carolina - Gary was born to George E & Elaine E Kiphart on April 15, 1943 in West Allis WI. Gary passed on March 2, 2023 at the age of 79 at the Smithfield Hospital in NC. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years Patricia Kiphart & three sons Gary D Kiphart, Rodney S Kiphart, and Sean E Kiphart. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald L and sister Janice E Kiphart. After completing high school in 1961 Gary spent 20 yrs in the US Air Force with tours in Japan, Philippines, Viet Nam and Korea defending his country. He retired in 1982 where he then implemented his core values of Honor, Duty, Loyalty, and Integrity from his military career into his next career working for the US Postal Service for 23 years, retiring in 2006. Gary was an extremely talented low handicap golfer from the age of 14 to well into his 70's. He was very fond of his dogs having several Labrador Retrievers throughout his long life. Gary touched all of the lives around him in profound ways making his sudden passing that much more difficult. In lieu of flowers, Gary would be extremely thankful if the people that loved and adored him would donate to operationbattlebuddies4vets.com, an organization that provides trained emotional support Labrador Retrievers to veterans and their families that deal with seen and unseen military related injuries while serving their country.

For a while Gary and Pat lived in Georgia. It was there that my husband Jon and I met and shared many good times and laughs with them. We share in Pat's grief and loss. He was just an all around good guy. May he rest in peace in paradise.

Pat, our thoughts and prayers are with you & your family. Gary was a gentle soul. In all our years at USPS, I never heard him say a bad word about anyone, or get angry, while we know there were plenty of occasions where he could have been. We are so sorry for your loss. -Teddy & Donna

My great father in law Gary. Where do I even start. You were always so sweet and kind to me. Treated me like your own daughter. An amazing grandfather to our Evan and most of all your sons best friend.
Always our biggest fan and Evans constant reassurance. I know he will continue to make you proud.
Such a wonderful person and husband to Pat. We´ll take care of her until she meets you again. Love you so much.

Uncle Gary was one of the most generous people I know. He and his wife have always been so ready to give the shirt off of their back for anyone in need and it is truly amazing to witness in person. I loved watching Uncle Gary light up when talking about golf or the military. He was so even keeled and patient but stayed ready for anything. He was such an amazing husband to his wife. Although he was quiet he had such a profound presence in any room he walked into. Uncle Gary you have won the ultimate jackpot. Instead of constantly winning on scratchers down here, you have scratched the winning ticket into Heaven. What a beautiful day it will be when we all meet again in Heaven. We all love and miss you more than words can express

I´ll never get over losing you my wonderful husband and best friend. I know you are in heaven watching over your loved ones. Rusty wags his tail when I say your name, there are no words to describe our grief. I love you Gary . . . . till we meet again my love! Your loving wife Pat
