In 1969 he met and married his wife Kathy in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. His son Clint was born the next year, and daughter Vicky 18 months later. They lived many years in Bern before moving to Montpelier where he worked in the mines above Soda Springs. In 1989 he moved to Salt Lake City, He retired in 2004 after having worked as a security guard for 15 years. Gary was an avid sportsman, he spent his entire life hunting and fishing, he enjoyed both activities immensely. I’m DeVirl “Bud” Kunz’ daughter Joy Peck. I wanted to tell my dad about Gary’s passing, but I guess he already knows. Uncle George was my dad’s favorite and I can imagine both George and Bud together meeting and greeting Gary into heaven. What a happy reunion. I wonder if they can all go fishing together.

As Gary's kid cousins in Ogden, I can recall on occasional visits to Bern him having showing us real live animals on the farm! I well remember Gary and Uncle George stopping by enroute to SLC when Gary entered the "old" mission home; and a couple of visits while he was in the Army.
I extend my heartfelt sympathy and love to Kathy and Vicky, Valerie and Clint and their families at this time of sorrow, as well as to Gereldene, Kent, Roger and the others in our extended family.
