Beloved husband to Ilene, loving heroic father to Greg McRae and Leanne (Craig) Fitch, proud grandfather to Ella and Eden Fitch as well as loyal friend to all that knew him. Gary was born and raised in Calgary; married the love of his life Ilene on May 16, 1970. Gary was employed by Alberta Brewers Agents for thirty-seven years. He was an avid outdoorsman who was a member of the Calgary Snowmobile Club and the Calgary Radio Club. It was through these activities Gary made lifelong friends. Greg, we were saddened to hear of your father's passing. There is little to prepare us for that final physical parting.
Although we did not know your Dad personally, we see the qualities ascribed to him in you.
Cherish the knowledge that he does live on within you and as a result, you will continue to share him with others.

Dear Ilene & family,
We were both saddened & shocked to read, on the Milligan website, about Gary's death. He was a wonderful, friendly & kindhearted man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a true friend & neighbour to everyone in Dasnier's Bay. We'll all miss him. Our thoughts are with you.

Our deep sympathy goes to Gary's family. My family knew Gary many years ago. We were in the Radio Club and my husband Barry and brother Fred volunteered with Gary on some boy scout outings. He was a gracious and gentle man. Although we had not been in touch over the years we have very fond memories.
