Gary Pelletier

Gary D Pelletier, 80, passed away on July 10, 2025, in Pocatello, Idaho. Born on September 4, 1944, in Salem, Massachusetts, Gary lived a life marked by service, love, and unwavering pride in his country. A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Gary served with honor as a Corporal during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1969. Stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam, he carried his military experience with deep pride throughout his life. He often shared stories of his time in the service and remained fiercely patriotic until his final days. Gary was known for his joyful spirit and magnetic personality. He had a gift for lighting up any room he entered and was cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Whether it was through heartfelt conversations or spontaneous karaoke sessions, Gary brought laughter and warmth wherever he went. He especially loved fishing and spending time with friends-simple pleasures that reflected his appreciation for life s everyday moments. He is survived by his beloved wife Rhonda of 23 years, who remembers him as a kind and devoted partner who expressed his love daily with sincerity and affection. His family includes sons Kirk Pelletier and wife Rebecca of Peabody, Massachusetts; Chad Pelletier of Massachusetts; stepdaughter Kimberley Slover and husband Shane of Deer Park, Washington; stepson Kevin Huwe and wife Tasha of Culver, Oregon; and grandchildren Emma, Jackson, Hunter, and Hayley. Gary also leaves behind sister-in-laws Debbie Alvarez of Pocatello; Dena Helton of Ray City, Georgia; and Karen Helton of Anchorage, Alaska. He was preceded in death by his mother Florence St Charles; mother-in-law Shirley Hubert; and several other loved ones whose memories he held dear. Gary shared a special bond with his beloved furry companion Benjamin Clark Pelletier-affectionately known as Benji-named after his foster father. Their connection brought him great comfort and joy. A man of deep emotion and enduring loyalty, Gary touched countless hearts throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the stories shared by those who knew him best and in the love he gave so freely. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn him today. Semper Fi.
