Gary Reed

Gary Wayne Reed, 62, of Zion, IL, died on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Gary was born October 1, 1952, in Smyrna, TN. He married Cheri Buote on August 22, 1970, in Tucson, AZ, and was the owner of Gary Reed Drywall. Gary had a love for all animals, including his family pets and all kinds of wildlife. His grandchildren, Sean and Jenna, were two of his greatest joys in life. Survivors include his wife and soulmate of 44 years, Cheri; children, Michael Wayne (Leanne) Reed of Waukegan, IL, Michelle Christine Reed of North Haven, CT, and Matthew Sean Reed of Wadsworth, IL; grandchildren, Sean Michael Reed and Jenna Ann Reed; father and mother, Charles and Carole Reed of Tucson, AZ; and his siblings, Rick (Carol) Torchia of Tucson, AZ, Kathy (Mike) Johnson of Houston, TX, Nancy (John) Leatherman of Houston, TX, Chuck (Trina) Reed of Tucson, AZ, Joe (Kathy) Reed of Trenton, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Betty Buote of Tucson, AZ; and brother-in-law, Bob Buote (Evy) of Tucson, AZ; along with loving nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda (Reed) Rasmussen. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1310 N. Frolic Ave., Waukegan, IL. The family will be at the church at 5:30pm with the service starting at 6:00pm. Following the service, there will be a gathering for family and friends, concluding at 8:30pm.
