SATTERLEE, Gary Robert 4/30/1938 - 6/30/2017 Resident of Benson, AZ. Gary was born in Crookston, MN to Robert Satterlee and Amy Buffum-Satterlee. The family moved to Benson, AZ in the early 1940's, where Gary attended school. He played the trombone in his high school band, and played football and basketball as a Benson Bobcat, helping his high school win state championships. Gary was a resident of Tucson in the 60's and 70's, working as a printer at various companies including Mountain States Engineers and also at Tucson Newspapers. An avid horseback rider, camper and fisherman, Gary loved the outdoors. Preceded in death by wife, Norene; niece, Robin Satterlee and son-in-law, Ron Canham. Survived by brother, Alan Satterlee; daughters, Susan Swartz (Bo), Kim Canham, Cindy Stringham (John) and son, Kyle Satterlee. "Grandpa Gary" to Erin Holladay, Meghan Duffy, Lauren Corral, William Swartz, Amy Swartz, Skie Fortier and Ryan Stringham and 12 great-grandchildren. Services: Saturday, July 15, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at RICHARDSON'S REMEMBRANCE CENTER, 725 E. 4th Street, Benson, AZ. Interment to follow at Cochise Gardens of Rest.

I love you Dad, and will miss you forever. Thank you for giving your girls such a great childhood, complete with lessons we didn't even know were happening. Yet, we have come to understand perfectly. You were such a fun, gentle soul, mentor, and teacher always leading the way. Common sense, unconditional love, forgiveness, solid work ethic, being a contribution to society and looking for opportunity to perform random acts of kindness. You led and inspired by example -- Servant Leadership at its best. You would be so proud to know how much these traits have manifested in our next generations. RIP my sweet father, Gary Satterlee.
