Gary Savage Obituary
AGE: 69 • Claymont, Delaware
Gary passed away peaceably on May 12, 2017. He was born in Wilmington, DE in 1947 to the late Harley J. and Doris M. Savage.
After graduating from Brandywine High School, Gary joined the United States Marine Corps and after serving his country, he entered college and received his B.S. from Wilmington College. He worked for the Delaware Port Authority as a tugboat crewman for many years. Gary owned a landscape business until his retirement.
Gary loved every aspect of sports and was an excellent athlete himself. One of Gary's fondest memories was being at the final game of the 1980 World Series when the Phillies won the championship. Gary will always be remembered for his honesty, loyalty and love for his fellow man.
He is survived by and will be dearly missed by his siblings, Donna Hoffecker, (John), Byron Savage and Matthew Savage, (Greta). Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Samantha Buford, William Ryan III, Elizabeth Haas, Byron Savage, Jr., Jake and Danielle Savage and his great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
