Gary is survived by the love of his life of 57 years, Jan (Bame) Smith, son Patrick Smith (Elita) of Alexandria, VA, and daughter, Karie Byerly (Adam), and three grandchildren: Emma, Benjamin, and Andrew Byerly of Grand Junction, CO.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm on October 11, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church, 116 S Loudoun St, Winchester, VA.
